Aunty Peach is the “outrageous yet endearing” character originally created in New York by the highly experienced Australian performer Alison Daavid for the Broadway hit show – “Pomp, Duck and Circumstance”.
Returning to Australia and starting a family of her own, Alison became aware of the fact that many children have little or no firsthand experience of live theatre. This inspired her to create a show that could be taken directly to students in schools.
She realised she could adapt her well-loved character, Aunty Peach, to make it the perfect tool to both entertain and educate children.
Having been a fan of Roald Dahl’s stories and whacky humour since she was young herself, Alison felt his twisted fairytales would be the perfect vehicle for Aunty Peach to engage with primary school students. And so ‘The Aunty Peach Show’ was born.
This show has been welcomed enthusiastically in schools around Australia as is evidenced by winning the coveted Performers in Schools Award for Excellence in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016.
